Kingston Road (Highway 2) under construction east of Danforth Avenue interchange (Highway 5) in 1936. Then four-lane Kingston Road (Highway 2) and Danforth Avenue (Highway 5) interchange in 1938, two years after opening. Kingston Road (Highway 2) and Danforth Avenue (Highway 5) interchange in 1938 at night with then new incandescent lighting. This lighting was replaced with mercury lighting in the 1950's and high pressure sodium lighting in the 1970's when Kingston Road was widened to six lanes. Kingston Road (Highway 2) twin bridges over Highland Creek near the junction with Highway 2A in 1938. These bridges were replaced in the 1970's when Kingston Road was widened.
