Fresh Ponds Road, a 2-lane country road, now ends here at the junction of US 130 and CR 522. Fresh Ponds Road used to continue across US 130, but that now ends in a cul-de-sac near the traffic light.

The Summerfield Road / Scenic Drive traffic light serves a residential subdivision and a shopping center dominated by Stop&Shop.
Two new strip malls have been built where CR 522 crosses Georges Road.
CR 522 continues west through an area of condominiums.
Emergency access points with closed gates are located at several of the side streets in this area. However, a sound wall is currently under construction here, and so this system may not last much longer.
In the heart of South Brunswick Township, CR 522 merges in with the old road and there is a brief boulevard segment. The Municipal Building and Police Department are located here with a driveway right on the boulevard.
CR 522 reverts back to expressway status as it leaves the old Ridge Road alignment.
The land on the right is currently undeveloped, but new development will probably come soon.

The Stouts Lane at-grade is located just before the US 1 traffic signal. Stouts Lane serves South Brunswick High School.
At the US 1 traffic light. US 1 becomes a Jersey Freeway less than a mile south of this point, as it leaves South Brunswick and enters Plainsboro.
Approaching Princeton Gate Blvd. Traffic counts are lower west of US 1 than east of US 1.
