Looking at the western end of the CR 522 expressway, at NJ 27.
CR 522 travels through a large subdivision, called “Princeton Walk” although it is located more than a mile northeast of the Princeton town limit. A “Princeton” address is generally recognized with wealth because of the expensive houses in downtown and the eminence of Princeton University.
CR 522 continues east through the “Princeton Walk” subdivision.
Construction efforts, led by the Township of South Brunswick, are underway along much of the expressway.
Approaching US 1, the expressway narrows to one lane in each direction. After the current construction project is completed, it will be four lanes through the intersection.
A reverse jughandle is also being built since the left turns from the former jughandle were nearly always congested.
The Stouts Lane at-grade, which is the turn-off for South Brunswick High School.
CR 522 travels through a forest east of US 1, with a small creek running through the woods on the south side of the highway. Hopefully this beautiful area will be able to stay undeveloped, but new subdivisions are likely in the growing township.
At the New Road traffic signal. This was the first area of CR 522 to receive sound walls, since new homes and apartments have recently been built in the area.
At the Northumberland Dr. at-grade.

Crossing the Northeast Corridor rail line, one of the most heavily utilized railroads in the United States.
This is at the east end of the brief boulevard segment. CR 522 does not have access control along this 1/4-mile segment since it was built on top of the old road. Residential driveways, commercial driveways, and the South Brunswick Police Department are located along this segment.
Sound barriers are being installed as the expressway goes through an area that is developed with apartments. This segment was originally built as a super-2 in the late 1990’s. In the early 2000’s, the expressway was widened to 4-lanes and a jughandle was installed at the Kingston Lane traffic light.
At the Georges Road traffic light. This road is an old alignment of US 130.
This traffic light serves a new shopping center featuring Stop & Shop.
Approaching the eastern terminus at US 130.

Signage on US 130. At this intersection, US 130 goes north-to-south as a 4-lane arterial, CR 522 goes west as a 4-lane expressway, and Fresh Ponds Rd. goes east as a 2-lane country road.
