Exit for Morganton Road. In the long run, probably after 2010, NCDOT will upgrade this non-signalized interchange to provide turning lanes for Morganton Road which do not have any at this time.
It is not unusual to see people cross US 1 between the two sides of Southern Pines.
Exit for Pennsylvania Avenue. This road takes you into downtown Southern Pines if you turn right at the stop sign.
In 2002, accel/decel ramps were extended along both bounds of the bypass. In addition, new turning lanes were added around that time.

NC 22 shares two of the three destinations. NC 2 is Midland Road locally along about 95% of its length.
NC 22 takes you to Carthage.
With the new Vass-Cameron bypass built in June 2005, the destinations listed will take less time to reach.
This at grade intersection provides access for Valleyview road although no signage provides this. No interchange was built for Valleyview Road.
At grade to serve the Highland Hills development.
The ramp on the right leads you to May Street. This was formerly US 1 before the bypass was built in the 1950s.
This ends the Southern Pines bypass. US 1 continues as an arterial before seeing another expressway & freeway configuration while bypassing Vass and Cameron.
