A look southbound at the north end of the Perring Parkway (all pictures are southbound from here onward).
Perring Parkway just south of the I-695 interchange.
One of the interesting features of the MD 41 expressway is that it has curbs near traffic lights and interchanges, but not along the entire distance.
The expressway gains an additional lane in each direction, going from four lanes to six lanes.
Hillsway Avenue traffic light. Perring Parkway crosses the Baltimore City Limits a short distance south of this traffic light.
Approaching the mini-interchange at the Northern Parkway. Only one ramp - from Perring Parkway southbound to the Northern Parkway westbound - is provided. Neither the Perring Parkway (an expressway) or the Northern Parkway (a boulevard) have any other interchanges along their routes (with the exception of one right-in-right-out located a short distance south of here on Perring Parkway).
Perring Parkway is especially scenic in this area, as it passes through Mount Pleasant Park. A park-owned golf course is located directly to the right of the expressway.
MD 41 loses its expressway status when crossing Echodale Avenue and downgrades from a 6-lane expressway to a 4-lane boulevard.
A final look at MD 41 as it continues south along its residential boulevard alignment towards downtown Baltimore.
